There are two restaurants that count in Vegas: Lotus of Siam and Raku. Despite our prayers, Lotus of Siam has no plans to open in California, but Raku transposed its izakaya on a corner of La Cienega. In Vegas, you can’t even think to get a table at Raku without a reservation, as the city’s chefs and tourists fill the room until the early morning. In the LA outpost, the story is quite simple: there’s a beautiful bento box for lunch, and the best yakitoris in town (with the exclusion of Little Tokyo) for dinner. Or follow the chef’s omakase, to try new dishes such a Kobe beef liver sashimi… but it might cost you more than expected.
