Lucques

In a town where restaurants come and go quicker than a Snapchat post, Lucques is an exception. Back in 1998, Suzanne Goin and her partner-and-sommelier Caroline Styne opened a Mediterranean restaurant just across Melrose Place. The rest is history. And edible memories. Roasted eggplant and tahini yogurt, chicken confit with radicchio, rabbit in mustard sauce or pumpkin gratin – it feels like a family feast in the South of France. This comfort cooking (miles away from dull comfort food) goes hand in hand with Lucques’ warm atmosphere: brick walls and fireplace indoors, and patio and candles outdoors. Sunday evenings are  a gem: a simple prix-fixe menu served family style, under the large olive tree. Book ahead to avoid disappointments.
