Matsumoto is the kind of secret you’ll never want to share. The atmosphere is soft, warmer than other sushi restaurants. Each of the porcelain chopstick holders is different and carefully chosen, as are the sake glasses. Have a seat at the corner of the sushi bar and order the omakase (if your bank account allows it) or simply admire the chef’s talent and dexterity: after taking your order, Naruki Matsumoto grabs his knife to slice the fish finely and then scoops the perfect quantity of rice in his right hand, slightly closes his palm to form the patty, and finally combines them with a minimum number of movements.
