After sampling every cookie in Los Angeles (wishing it were the new Californian diet), Milk Jar deserves to be on the podium. A stone’s throw from LACMA, this tiny shop feels like your grandma’s house, with the whole room smelling like fresh-baked cookies. The OG (chocolate chip) is a must-eat, but you can also venture out with a banana split or a rocky road one. Grab everything to-go, or stay to dip your cookie in a glass of Broguiere’s Dairy milk. The cookies are thick, fluffy, fresh out of the oven and still melting. “I’ve got no room for a crispy cookie in my life” explains the pastry chef”: and it’s an excellent philosophy.
