The Sweet Nuns

When the French feel homesick in Los Angeles, the remedies are few: Petit Trois’ omelette, Republique‘s baguette, raw milk cheese from DTLA Cheese… and The Sweet Nuns’ religieuses*. Trained at L’Eclair de Genie in Paris by Christophe Adam (the Holy Father of eclairs), Rebecca Donze is a chou fanatic. All her pastries are made on-site in his creative laboratory, where she also prepares special requests: religieuses in the shapes of pumpkins, Princess Leila, turtles, etc. As for us, the choice is wide: Madagascar vanilla, matcha, salt caramel, yuzu, orange blossom… Something tells us that you’re going to fake feeling homesick too.

* Religieuses are French pastries made of two light pastry cases called “choux”, one larger than the other. It is filled with crème pâtissière, glazed with a design and decorated.
