On any night but Saturdays, you can grab a seat and a bite at the lively Ta-Eem Grill. The cool kids and traditional families brush elbows at the outdoor tables on Melrose Avenue, but everyone comes for the eggplant dish. Make sure you come early, because they always run out. Consolation prizes take the form of Israeli salads, crispy falafels, tender shawarma, juicy kabobs and fluffy pockets of pita bread. All are excellent, but none can rival with the eggplant dish.
