In a social network era, Tacos Tu Madre has found the key to success: a pop-colored calavera mural by “The Art of Chase”, i.e. the perfect background for Instagram pictures. Joshua Pourgol (from Groundworks Coffee) and Oliver Mateen dynamited the Westwood neighborhood and satisfy your night-time taco cravings. Until 3AM on weekends, you can order through a walk-up window any fusion tacos (bulgogi beef, tuna with yuzu ponzu, chicken katsu) or traditional ones (carne asada, lengua, carnitas). If you can’t decide, get the taco tasting menu for 10 pesos! On the other side of town, Tacos Tu Madre opened a second spot on the already-very-cool corner of Vermont Avenue right below the Los Feliz Cinema. Same hours, same Instagrammable pop mural, but also a few tables on the pavement and a philosophical neon sign: Make tacos, not war.
