It may say ‘We Have Noodles’ on the front door, but don’t sleep on the appetizers. These chicken and truffle dumplings in brodo probably fell directly from heaven, and you’ll also want to order that roasted eggplant dip with sweet potato chips and cucumber (it’s the perfect mix between babaganoush and tom yum). Chef Darren Sayphraraj (previously at The NoMad and The Modern in NYC) wants to pay homage to the food stalls in South-East Asia and the multicultural noodles: Japanese shoyu ramen (with Serrano ham), Thai khao soi (with kabocha squash — get it!), Vietnamese pho (tender beef belly and pungent broth), Korean Jajang rice cakes (not noodles, but so decadent) etc. There’s a lovely terrace right across Sunset Junction, and the amazing Lou Amdur from Lou Wine Shop put together a very smart wine list to help you slurp down some noodles. Although the restaurant’s name should read: We have noodles… and SO MUCH MORE!
