The days when Marcel Vigneron (a Top Chef alum once exiled in the Utah mountains) was a lone wolf are over. His piercing blue eyes check almost each dish in Wolf’s open kitchen, an elegant rectangular restaurant which can get a little noisy when it’s packed — but that’s a good thing. The food is rustic and eco-friendly: each component of the product is used, from root to petal, and from nose to tail. Producers are also proudly listed on the menu, and that’s something we love. Vigneron takes inspiration from LA’s culinary DNA, i.e. “from taco trucks to Thai Town”. And what ends up in the plate is beautiful: vadouvan rack of lamb with romanesco and labneh, charred carrots, miso cod and fried potatoes like you’ve never seen them before. We want to wolf down on these every night.
