The best BYOB

Malibu Seafood Los Angeles

When Gjusta and Mh Zh removed their BYOB policy, we only had our tears left to drink with these delicious plates of ful, pastrami lox and ragoooo. Luckily, Los Angeles has a lot to offer in the free corkage and BYOB category, and here are some of of favorites:

Malibu Seafood

It may look like a simple seafood shack right on the PCH, but this place has some of the best seafood in the area: and pretty much everyone in LA knows it, as you’ll notice by the crowds on weekend days. Be a pro and call Malibu Seafood while you’re driving to place your order and skip the line. Also, bring a bottle of wine and enjoy your clam chowder and steamed mussels while facing the ocean.

Sapp Coffee Shop

At Sapp Coffee Shop, remember 2 things: bring your own cash, and bring your own booze. Actually, 3 things: order the jade noodles — green vermicelli with crab, duck and caramelized pork, a squeeze of lemon juice, cilantro and spring onion. Mix everything together and slurp away! Go to your favorite wine show (Domaine LA, Lou’s, Silverlake Wine…) and be get ready to be blown away.

Rahel

If you’ve never experienced Ethiopian food, Rahel is an excellent place to start. Grab a six pack at the 7-11 next door and ask for a table on their charming patio. Order several veggie options to share (a mix of lentils, potatoes, and some greens…) and you’ll be convinced to return to Little Ethiopia for more.

Providence

When one of the most expensive restaurants in LA does free corkage on Monday nights, you pop a bottle of Champagne! Moreover, Providence now has two Michelin stars, which does not often rhyme with BYOB.
