Coni’Seafood

ConiSeafood Inglewood Los Angeles

Changes are you’re not about fly down to Mexico City tonight to have dinner at Contramar and order the pescado a la talla. But option number 2 would be driving to LAX and stopping at Coni’Seafood on your way there. The authentic one is in Inglewood, past the airport, but we prefer the newby, which serves beers and is closer to the del Rey area. Your ordering routine should sound like clockwork, but there’s a reason why everyone loves the same dishes: start your meal with smoked marlin tacos and you’ll finally get it. Move on to the aguachiles (whole shrimps marinated in lime juice, both delicious and quirky to look at), which should arrive at the same time as the ceviche marinero (shrimp ceviche with mango, tomatoes, cucumbers and a lot of magic). At that time you might want to throw in one or two hot and cold appetizers if you’re a large table, but otherwise it’s time for the pièce de résistance: monsieur pescado zarandeado. This is a large snook fish cooked to perfection and served with side of caramelized onions. By the time you’re done with it, you shouldn’t even have room left for dessert — and that’s perfect, because they don’t serve any.
