There are restaurants that pretend to be healthy, and there’s Honey Hi. Owned by two resplendent healthy gals (one of which is a nutritionist), it is a cute wooden hut that makes you want to take care of yourself. All their ingredients are organic and local, sourced from farms where even the pigs are happy (read Honey Hi’s philosophy here). The dishes are free of gluten and refined sugar, but certainly not boring. That One Bowl is a blockbuster, with quinoa, redmeat radish, kale pesto (well, it’s LA) and a turmeric poached egg (it’s definitely LA). The Miso Bowl is a little heartier, with rice, cabbage, carrot, chicken and a chickpea-ginger-miso sauce. There is even a bone broth to make you feel better. Honey Hi is a gift from heaven for the hangover mornings, and all the other days in the year.
