Lalibela has the most charming terrace on Little Ethiopia, with three mosaic tables, small trees and a few string lights. Choose the ‘veggie utopia’ to share (a mix of lentils, potatoes, and some greens…) and meat dishes to add on the large teff galette called injera: yebeg alethcha wot (spicy slow-cooked lamb), derek tibs (beef sautéed with herbs), or whatever the chef and her daughters suggest that night. They Tej honey wine is handmade by the chef, and fermented in-house. End the evening with a ceremony of Ethiopian coffee, and you’ll almost feel like you’re there.
