Roberta’s

After teasing us for months on end with countless pop-ups and collaboration events around the city, Brooklyn transplant Roberta’s has finally arrived. Located at the Platform project in Culver City, Roberta’s is serving up much of the same that made the Bushwick location a NYC institution. Ideally we’d like to go with a large group and just order all the blistered pizzas, pastas and grilled meats, but of course, not everyone is as hedonistic as us. For the more judicious amongst us, we recommend starting off with the sfincione meets Neapolitan pizza-esque bread accompanied by cultured butter and anchovies. Moving on to the pasta section, the rich bucatini carbonara is a runaway hit. We’re really digging it now and will be even more so once the “colder” months roll around. Since life’s all about striving for balance we like to even out our order by getting the ultra-summery sweet and baby corn that’s lightly steamed and hit with just the right amount of black lime. It’s a perfect palate cleanser of sorts and sets us up for the grand finale that is the glorious bee sting itself. This beautifully blistered pizza has all the makings of the classic margherita, but the addition of soppressata, chili oil and honey really send it over the edge. It’s the very dish that kept us dreaming of permanent Roberta’s location in LA and we couldn’t be happier that the time has come.
