Uncle Paulie’s

Uncle Paulie's West Hollywood Los Angeles

Uncle Paulie isn’t your ordinary uncle, but it is a very classic Italian-American deli. The co-owner (with Jon Buscemi) Paul James got the nickname Uncle Paulie when he was a kid in Queens, he’s only 34 and still has a baby face. The food, though, ain’t no joke: Uncle Paulie’s makes its own mozzarella daily, and homemade meatballs for meatball parm sandwiches on weekends. Chef Austin Itri (formerly at Spago) gets his produce at the farmers market and the bread from Normandie Bakery chef Josette LeBlond. Expect Italian heroes, cold cuts, artichoke caprese, cheese by the pound and oven-baked cookies.
