If the world is your oyster, Fishing with Dynamite is the promised land. A tiny beach hut elegantly decorated, the ideal place to have a drink after a day in Manhattan Beach. One or two glasses of white wine, and it’s time to raid the raw bar. Peruvian scallops served on the shell with a slice of grapefruit, Santa Barbara uni and a myriad of oysters. David LeFevre, who took over the Michelin-starred WaterGrill after Michael Cimarusti, divides his menu into “Old School” (Marylandcrab cakes, Clam Chowdah) and “New School” (grilled octopus, yellowtail tacos with extra pork rind). If you’re going for a splurge, choose the whole Thai mullet (with ginger, kaffir lime and bok choi) or the seafood platter for six (with lobster and Dungeness crab), subtly nicknamed the Mothershucker.
