Merci Maman

Why hasn’t anyone thought about this before? This woman-owned business makes chilled soups available all year round. It’s a great way to eat soup in sunny California and there’s a variety of colorful and bold flavors to choose from. All their soups are raw, vegan, and gluten-free. The owner, Diane Montoriol, is a Parisian expat, who spent her childhood summers in the South of France and was inspired by her grandmother crafting chilled soup recipes from her garden.

The soups are complex in flavor, bold in color, smell amazing and really stand on their own. They have the thickness and texture of an acai bowl, or of a melted ice cream. All ingredients are blended cold for less than 30 seconds to preserve the integrity of the produce and retain all the vitamins. The owner will also explain to you that the higher density of color, the more flavor and nutrients, and each recipe is created with this in mind. You can mix and match different color soups in one bowl and create a pretty swirl. And you can add toppings too, with infinite combinations. Their fave recommendations are sliced avocado, any seasonal diced up veggies, and any seeds or nuts.

They have a few collabs on the way, including a Sexy soup and a Beauty soup with adaptogens, a Spicy soup, and even an American soup… Oh la la!

The soups are sold in beautiful glass jars which you can return, they recycle them, and you get a discount towards your next purchase.

It’s fun, delicious, nutritious, and earth-friendly: Merci Maman!
