Pasta Sisters

Pasta Sisters Mid City Los Angeles

Great pasta isn’t hard to find in LA, but great pasta at affordable prices most definitely is. This is quickly changing thanks to Pasta Sisters, a mid-city restaurant armed with a family recipe book dating back to the 19th century. The original Arlington Heights location is blink and you’ll miss it type place. With only four tables and a three seat counter, it’s hardly a place to linger over your meal. That being said, we don’t expect dishes like the light hand-made gnocchi tossed with pine nut pesto to remain on your plate for long. The menu is more or less a choose your own adventure type affair. Diners are free to mix and match various fresh pastas and sauces, but the staff will be more than happy to suggest a few classic combinations to the ambivalent. For diners looking for something more than just pasta, other menu options include entrees like a fantastic chicken Milanese, fresh seasonal salads, and deep-fried calzones reminiscent of empanadas. While wait times can sometime be long at peak lunch hours, the opening of the second Pasta Sisters location in the former Bucato space has eased demand at one location, making the queues for fresh pasta under $15 quite reasonable.
