Van Leeuwen

It took a New Yorker to create the most Californian ice cream: vegan scoops with raw cocoa, cashew milk, matcha… or even turmeric! The non-vegan ice creams have more traditional tastes (the good old chocolate, vanilla, strawberry…) and are made with hormone-free or antibiotic-free cream, cane sugar and organic eggs. The rest is legen… wait for it… nondairy. You’ll find the cheerful yellow truck on Abbott Kinney, Little Tokyo or at LACMA, while the three “brick-and-mortar” shops offer Toby’s Estate coffee and Rishi teas — both organic, obviously.
