Alta Adams is a collaboration between Michelin-starred chef DC Patterson from Coi, and chef Keith Corbin, a Watts native and LocoL alum. Alta Adams offers a take on soul food, inspired by West African cuisine and classic American dishes. Think black eye pea fritters that resemble croquetas, shrimp and grits, candied yam gratin or grilled pork collar with chow chow. There are wooden booths for groups, a 13-seat counter and a charming patio. The excellent cocktail selection is orchestrated by Aaron Paul, with an emphasis on California producers: favorites include the Swing Thyme, as well as the Lunchbox with butter-washed whiskey, huckleberry, peanuts and Aperol.
