Cassell’s began serving burgers in 1948, and they have the best ones in Los Angeles for a while. After he passed away, Cassell’s was recreated in the superb Hotel Normandie, with the same furniture and the same menu. An extremely simple burger: a Parker House bun lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and the juiciest patty. You can add a fried egg or avocado, but it is won’t be necessary.
