Whether it be for coffee and a pastry for breakfast, a midday snack – they have a grand choice of chips – grabbing a quick bite by the PCH, sitting down for lunch on their outdoor tables, an afternoon snack or an early to-go dinner to enjoy at sunset on the Malibu Lagoon, The Malibu Kitchen will smother your appetite. On the savory side, the deli menu ranges from a Greek salad to a pan-seared turkey burger, or fried chicken. And of course, as in any proper deli, there is a myriad of sandwiches, on your choice of bread, categorized into “favorites” (Better Than Mom’s Meatloaf, Fresh Roasted Turkey, BBQ Pulled Pork) and “classics” (NY Reuben, Chicken Salad, BLT and the Tuna Melt, which won our hearts over). Do not omit a little order of the homemade pickles and choice of cold cuts. On the sweet side, the range is almost just as wide: cakes, tarts, bars, macaroons… However, they are to be relished as a reward after a long scenic hike, a calming walk on the beach, or an inevitable Malibu surf session. The Malibu Kitchen is your venue to small town authenti-city.
