Don’t be fooled: at Pa Ord, you want to order carefully because even their mild dishes are on the fiery side. Get the kuay tiew rua, i.e. boat noodles (they used to be sold from small boats along Bangkok canals), which they are famous for. If you’re not into beef blood, tripe, or liver (although the taste of offal is covered by chili, star anise and kaffir lime), you’ll find an array of other noodles to choose from: with thin or flat rice, egg, or glass noodles. Also, get a side order of that Chinese broccoli which comes with large chunks of crispy pork skin. And don’t forget : always ask for ‘mild’!
