All the way in Malibu is nestled Le Café de la Plage, opened by a French husband-and-wife team in Point Dume Plaza. You’ll find pastries from Gjusta, coffee from Intelligentsia, sandwiches from Farmshop but most of all, ice cream by Bernard and Sophie. It’s a cute ice cream shop like you might find in France, yet the flavors are as rich as the California farmers markets: rose and lychee, black vanilla, fresh figs, caramel with caramelized almonds and salted butter, or pineapple and basil. There are plenty of vegan and sugar free options, because it may be Le Café de la Plage but it is still Los Angeles, after all.
