Raffi’s Place is an Persian-Armenian institution in Glendale, as Rafik Bakijanian (65), his wife Gohar (69) and their son Armond (39) are about to celebrate the restaurant’s 25th anniversary. For a quarter of a century, Raffi’s Place has been serving gigantic plates of grilled lule koobideh kebabs with whole charred tomatoes and peppers, and mountains of aromatic basmati rice. Get a side of tadig, the famous rice crust, as well as hummus and babaganoush — and come with a group to share it all. You won’t be the only ones, as Raffi’s Place is usually filled with large tables under the trees and string lights.
